LibraryLink begins the celebration of our national hero’s 150th birth anniversary by featuring materials on Jose Rizal’s ancestry. The featured book is written by a descendant of Rizal, creating a portrait of the hero based on family legend and lore. The featured article focuses on Rizal’s Chinese ancestry and draws a picture of the Philippine economy in the centuries before Rizal was born. The featured website, meanwhile, is a comprehensive online resource of Rizal’s life and works; or rather, of materials that illustrate how Rizal’s life shaped his works.
